The old saying, “You can never go home”. is true…things change, you change, people change….nothing is as it was….in the case my old Hometown of Grand Rapids Michigan has changed so much. There was never much to do, the artistic community was underground. Now breweries abound, and the internet has seeped into the area, and people know how to have their little boutique business. It is cuter, it has more coffee shops, and more European style hotels. Those who never left understand, people who are new there don’t understand.
I enjoyed my time, and liked getting my Documentary out in front of different people in a different place, a place with no connection to the subject in the documentary, yet it still maintained interest. I was nostalgic for a bit at first, but then I realized I had a show to do and had to put those feelings aside and tell the story of the story!
We had the narrator there and the director, and performed music from the soundtrack again. Now it is getting interesting that I have been able to perform with a local musician in different areas of the country.
